I believe all urban municipalities should have control over their roads and bike lanes. They are in the best position to decide what street infrastructure will best serve their population and facilitate traffic flow. The province should not interfere with local planning decisions. The Ministry of Transportation should only concern itself with highways that pass through cities and roads outside of urban municipal areas. It is the Highway Traffic Act and should restrict itself to legislation regarding highways.
