While this bill proposes to make infrastructure projects easier to build, it will actually cause current infrastructure projects to be delayed and undeliverable.

Bill 60 is an escalation of Bill 212’s attack on evidence based decision making that would prohibit any municipality in Ontario from reducing motor vehicle lanes to build new bike lanes.

Planned cycling projects like Parkside Drive, Dupont Street, and the Danforth Avenue extension won't be possible if Bill 60 becomes law.

And the wording is so broad that it could block bus priority lanes, patios and cafes, school streets, and other street improvements that rely on reallocating space from cars to people.

These are the urban infrastructure projects so desperately needed as Toronto is increasingly dense. Cars are not sustainable for all. We need to invest in additional infrastructure and make it easier, not harder, to build. This bill is not the way we create a better workable Toronto.
