I feel Ontario needs a more forward thinking and multi pronged approach to reducing gridlock in the city. Relying solely on cars for transportation and designing cities around drivers needs will not reduce gridlock. Opposite, it encourages more traffic. By allowing municipalities to explore different approaches, such as bike lanes and bus lanes, we can make downtown more accessible and gridlock free. For this reason, I oppose Bill 60. It only looks at solutions through one lens, which is very limiting. I bike, walk, drive and take public transport on a daily basis. Toronto needs to look at all modes of transport - not just cars.
