Town staff question the need for the Province to provide direction on this matter. It is important to note that consistent with provincial policy direction and market conditions, lot sizes for ground related housing have declined substantially over the last several decades while the Greater Toronto Area has some of the highest densities in North America.
Generally speaking, recently developed and proposed communities typically provide for a mix and range of housing with smaller lots for singles, semis, street and block towns, laneway towns, stacked towns, back to backs and all other low-rise product due to, as noted, consistent with provincial policy direction and market conditions.
