As a resident in the Kolapore uplands and an active user of the trail system and member of the Kolapore Wilderness Trail Association, I would like to make sure that this land is protected from any motorized use as we have seen firsthand the degradation from ATVs in the area.
The Kolapore Trails network has been maintained and used by a broad range of users for over 50 years. It is a unique jewel in our area. The Kolapore Trails provide a backcountry ski experience that is rare in southern Ontario and attracts skiers from across the region. This experience depends on restricting winter use to skiing only. Continued application of the policy that cross-country skiing is the only use on ski trails in winter is essential to providing quality skiing.
If this policy cannot be maintained, I would oppose the Conservation Reserve designation.
