It has not been proven that lane vehicle lane reductions is causing more congestion. Building more roads causes more congestion. Building more bike lanes will encourage more people to get out of their cars and onto their bikes. As we all know, and is scientifically proven, CO2 emissions due to human use of fossil fuels is heating up the planet and wiping out habitats for our human and non human kin, and killing many species. Getting out of a car and onto a bike, knowing that as cyclist one is protected by a bike lane, is one small step (or ride) an individual can take to reduce their own carbon footprint which is something we must all do as we have to stop using fossil fuels as soon as possible for Mother Earth to survive.
