I live in Toronto, about 25 minutes from downtown by bicycle. I am 52, and I use my bicycle every day from May to November as my primary means of transportation. As I have arthritis and chronic pain I like to use my bike because my work bag can sit in my bike basket and I get necessary exercise. I feel much safer using bike lanes. I would like more streets to have bike lanes so that I do not have to bike in traffic. I also drive a vehicle and I do not find that bike lanes create congestion. Bike lanes protect cyclists from collisions, and bike lanes reduce traffic. I believe this amendment should not pass, and municipalities should be able to reduce driving lanes when planning and building bike lanes.
