This bill is awful. It not only makes it easier to evict renters but once again attempts to displace cyclists on the roads and robs the ability for transit priority lanes to be implemented. This government needs to stop prioritizing car dependency and start prioritizing working people who use transit and cycle. Transit dedicated priority lanes are a game changer on congested routes and are proven to speed up service, drivers will never consider taking transit over their cars if the bus or streetcar is always late, slow and stuck in traffic. The roads need to be shared and not always geared to be dominated by cars. This government claims to be building new transit and supporting new transit infrastructure, so why are you guys taking a step backwards and preventing a proven method of faster, reliable transit? If motorists don’t like loosing a lane to buses, maybe they should suck it up and consider taking transit instead or just use another route. From an environmental standpoint, we know how many cars one bus can take off the road, and when the bus is slow and stuck in traffic all the time less people will want to take it so more people will drive, meaning pollution doesn’t get any better. It would be nice if just for once the ford government did the right thing and actually prioritized the people of Ontario instead of their rich developer friends and constituents.
