Policy Statements and Minister’s Decisions
I am vehemently opposed to making changes to the proposed Planning Act to make provincial policy statements inapplicable with respect to all Minister’s decisions, ESPECIALLY including past decisions, under the Planning Act outside the Greenbelt Area. It amounts to one of the many ways that the Premier is and has been eroding democracy and paving the way for corruption on multiple levels: provincial and municipal.
The Provincial policy statements are integral to protecting basic human access to clean air, water, soil.
Along with having given itself veto power over Planning decisions, i.e., use of MZOs, and how municipal agreements are made serves private interests and does not serve the people of Ontario.
Please do not proceed with this legislation. Thank you.
