The proposed amalgamation of 31 conservation authorities into just seven is enormously misguided. These individual entities have the knowledge and expertise that is indispensable to properly manage their local areas. Collapsing them into one mega-agency under the pretext of 'efficiency' will only favour reckless and destructive development. This is a proposal that will cause generational harm to Ontario.
