I believe merging 36 local conservation authorities into 7 large regional bodies is irresponsible. Grey Sauble Conservation Authority would become part of a region called the Huron-Superior Regional Conservation Authority, covering 23,500 km² and 80 municipalities. This is slightly larger than the country of Belize!
This could increase costs and bureaucracy, limit local programming, representation and governance.
We believe local watershed governance is essential for community safety, accountability, transparency, and protecting the lands and waters you value.
NOPE! Rural Ontario is the only Rural Ontario we have, when its gone, its gone. It will not go without a fight. Count on that.
