This proposed legislation is irresponsible and goes against the major tenets of the provincial policy framework and good land use planning principles. Exempting the major provincial plans and policies designed to protect our communities and what residents value is a betrayal to the purpose of public policy and looking out for the public good. This is clearly an opening for developers to sway more influence regardless of the long-term consequences which could be irreversible.
