I am a resident of the subdivision just north of this proposed area. I am appalled that the government would override the very legitimate arguments Oakville put forth when they stopped this proposal. Traffic in this area is already VERY bad at peak commuter times. Adding thousand more will completely break the area and make life very bad for its current residents.
There are already so many condo developments off Dundas that aren’t selling, and pricing for renters in the area is unaffordable for most. This smacks of back room deals while ignoring the wishes of the town’s government as well as its capabilities to function with this kind of rapid growth in a very small geographic area.
Oakville does not want these condo developments. Imposing them on us is a blatant misuse of power.
