I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO against the amalgamation of the Conservation Areas.
Past amalgamations forced by the Province at the Municipal level caused more problems than they solved, and the promised cost savings & efficiencies never materialized.
The area that the HCA covers is very unique geographically, especially in the Dundas Valley, when compared with the neighbouring conservation areas that they are proposed to be merged with and I am concerned about losing local decision-making that best serves this unique region.
