Hello,
I absolutely do not agree with this proposal. Since this Provincial Government came into power, the Conservation Authorities and Greenbelt have been under attack so the Ford Government can line the pockets of their developer friends and "cut the red tape" to open Ontario for development. This has nothing to do with conserving vital habitats across Ontario. It is another typical tactic of this Ford Government, making themselves appear like they care and are doing good, but it's only to give them the power they want. They haven't just suddenly cared about Conservation.
In a time where our Country is struggling with tariffs and massive debt, we need to be focusing on sustainability and creating more ways to provide for ourselves. By removing protected land, this puts us at irreversible damage and puts our food supply at risk.
I have multiple family members that belong to multiple Naturalist's clubs across Ontario and we are all deeply disturbed by this proposal. This cannot go through and we fully support our local Conservation Authority. They know our local land best and are fully dedicated to actually protecting it.
