I am against the merger for many reasons. The HCA does a wonderful job for our community. The old saying goes" if it is not broken, why fix it" The proposed merger will cost $ and tax payers money should be allocated to more valuable ways for our community. Also if the merger goes thru, local people lose their say in what matters. I think the government can find other ways to improve their system, without throwing taxpayers dollars away. I think that decisions about our grounds/ lands should remain within our community. What is the actual reason for this merger in the first place ..not clear. We need to keep our current conservation areas safe and protected. If you really want to help set clear, concise standards that are consistent for all conservation authorities....then back off and let them continue to do a wonderful job.
