I agree with the HCAs position regarding this matter. Stripping away community-level decision making greatly impacts the ability of local and especially indigenous knowledge and efforts to be represented in environmental planning and conservation. This is a bold offense to the importance of nature for Canadian and Ontarian identity. There has been minimal effort to produce a valid economic or environmental reason as to why this costly, damaging merger would be warranted.
