I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community.

Conservation requires local knowledge, local stewardship, and local relationship building. Consolidation does not build efficiencies that would meaningfully further the goals of conservation or cut costs for taxpayers in a meaningful way without reducing service or efforts in ecological maintenance. The province should instead provide unified services and standards (done in consultation with the CAs) for the conservation authorities to leverage in their own operations.
