I do not support this proposal to merge Ontario's 36 conservation authorities into seven large regional authorities.

I agree with the Hamilton Conservation Authority's submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community.

The Province has not provided evidence showing why the merger is needed, and how it will lead to better conservation of our watersheds. One of the stated objectives is to streamline permit approvals, which to me means to allow development without appropriate consideration and local oversight. This is totally inappropriate and does not serve the interests of most citizens of Ontario.
