I am a member of the Hamilton Conservation Authority and regularly use conservation lands, in Hamilton and in other Authorities' jurisdiction, year round. I also live on the border of the greenbelt and support the aims of conservation more broadly, not only as recreational areas.

I agree with HCA’s submission regarding the propsed changes. There is no good reason to change the existing structure which allows local authorities to make informed decisions based on their local expertise. I do not want to see my tax dollars wasted on the administrative expense of a merger nor the inefficiency that comes with removing decision-making from those with the most familiarity in their areas. The existing system is functioning well.
