Regarding ERO #025-1257:
I support the position of the Hamilton Conservation Authority: local oversight matters, and the many reasons for this have already been articulately stated by staff at the HCA.
Protection of our water is of critical importance: everyone needs access to safe water. Local management and oversight of this precious resource is the best way to protect our water.
Conservation lands are also crucial to everyone - our long-term well-being includes the safeguarding of these areas, and the expertise of local authorities paying attention to the particular conditions in our area (the City of Hamilton and the Township of Puslinch) continue to be the best management for our area.
Please do not allow this merger to move forward.
