There is no reason to be merging these conservation authorities other than attempting to sell an image of efficiency and centralizing control of these authorities to dilute their ability to protect the environment from capital interests (industrial, developments, etc.) It is important that we protect our green spaces, farmland, water, and endangered species. Without the work of our local conservation authorities life will become worse for Ontarians.
Shame on the Ford administration for once again centralizing their power so they can more easily sell out this province to private interests.
