A consolidation of environmental conservation authorities would dilute local voices and lead to a “one size fits all” approach, instead of individualized environmental regulations and projects that are specified for each region. This will lead to a loss in environmental protections, ultimately causing negative effects on the environment and health of the communities affected. This can lead to decreased drinking water quality, decreased air quality, increased invasive species abundance, which leads to drastic effects on the environment (like trees becoming infected, causing a loss in lumber). These have negative effects on human health and increase the spread of disease, ultimately putting more pressure on the already overwhelmed healthcare system
