I very much disagree with the Province’s proposal to amalgamate Conservation Authorities. Conservation Authorities are currently at the proper size which enables them to develop and execute their policies at the required level of detail. If the land area covered by any Conservation Authority becomes too large, it becomes much too difficult for a Conservation Authority to properly have the required level of detail to properly undertake the work required to adequately manage their watershed. The bottom line is Bigger is Not better !!
I would also say that to properly manage their watershed, Conservation Authorities require back the powers that have been taken away from them by this Conservative government during the past few years.
