The conservation is in place for protection to the ecosystem, and people in that unique area. Keeping the best interest for ecosystems and the people in that community safe. Activating interest, respect, and restoring knowledge to people. Helping rebalance, nature and industry. The conservation was built with history. That personal watershed community's history. The 36 conservations have a large area to cover already. Honestly it could be broken down into smaller, focused areas, as more restoring and regenerating must be done! We should not compromise this important work, but protect it, focus on it, and even enrich it.
The weather events we have are more common, more violent, and dangerous. Our ecosystems are fragile and in need of support. I do feel the energy and dollar investment would be more productive in more edge restoration to the lands that filter and clean our water. Investing in the H2O highway, that supports our country, Our farms, and drinking water.
The threats like severe storms, evasive fish, evasive plants, etc. to our natural world have only increased, causing many problems to manage. With these issues, we shouldn't take a layer of protection off, but add to it.
Nature is sitting in a time where help to the wild systems are critical to the survival of many, including humans! Looking to nature for the answers, seems to be the logical avenue that fits best, for the earth. Therefore for humans. No profit for anyone, with no soil, clean water, or food.
Will a plan be outlined and submitted from the government, to the people ? The people who have made large donations of money and land; They have entrusted it to the conservation.
Regenerative solutions like
Permaculture, which is not new, has many wonderful examples of success that exist across the world. Let's be outside the box, drive big positive change. WE ARE CANADA. Let's regenerate our edge effect, restoring aquifers, spring springs, filter and clean water, with the meandering it naturally wants to do.
Implementation of
Helping agricultural advance to a new natural nitrogen productive era, with a synergy of 8 species cover crops, holding old perennial crops; on contour, sinking water instead of speeding it up.
Invest in a portable Biochar machine. Biochar is being used at such a large success rate for sinking carbon long term , holding water, and providing a home for Microbiome to survive, that China has 70% of its business producing it from industry waste. (**let's look at them using permaculture to fix the wind erosion problem, for the city, total success). In Canada, Smith falls, at the dump, they have a biochar production area; turning waste into benefits. Thanks to THE ROUND TABLE.
(On a side note, why are we looking at garbage the same way? Looking to fill more land full of toxins… there is no away, we need to think circular, to stop this cycle)
Education advancement like a Regenerative booster program for kids lets say, learning from Native Americans that teach their history, village history, rural history. A Permaculture food forest support system on a federal scale. Enhancement of aquifer systems strengthening farmers , supporting communities and Ecosystems alike, as we are one. Bring in the school kids, groups with meaning, give them a free permaculture course, from the government. The curriculum already exists in a beautiful easy-to-use format for all !!
Make future generations a part of it all!
Let's implement these proven projects across the world that work to clean soil, water, and inspire new ideas to grow, instead of old ways. Maybe create villages of tiny homes; to water capture and help recharge land, placing let's say Veterans in free housing giving them free permaculture courses to help maintain a certain area with the conservation; (this also helps their mental well-being while recovering from their endured traumas for Canada).
Then they could pass the teachings to cadets, let's say; not only knowledge but a surplus of food would be created as well.
This I could get behind. Spend the dollars in a profitable, expansive way. Think of the new jobs it could create! It would also cost less, make a positive large change. This would benefit communities and individuals alike.
Extra boots with purpose to help plant and support essential native species and systems, with the Conservation.
Lets Not make more expenses to take away from our Ecosystems. Imagine if the money spent on advertising the ring of fire was put into the land? Into the people !
