I cannot believe that the government of Ontario is proposing that I should be within the Lake Erie Regional Conservation Authority. The proposed area is vast and covers an enormous range of ecologically diverse areas. Our local conservation area and Authority has been so important to my family (I live in Waterloo).

Without local expertise, without local planning, without local oversight of environmental problems, how can we feel our community and environment are safeguarded for the future. We NEED expert local coverage, not some distant authority trying to juggle all aspects of a huge area.

Please do not amalgamate 36 wonderful Conservation Authorities (a matter of pride for Ontarians) into seven regional authorities that will obviously be clumsy, lumbering and ineffective.
