Ontario’s conservation authorities should NOT be merged. They provide vital and local expertise and are very efficient as they are. Mergers are expensive - use the money instead to give the conservation authorities more tools to do their jobs even better and in alignment with each other.
We won’t let Ford make these agencies weaker - he’s so unsupportive of protecting the natural environment. He needs to see that saving lakes, wetlands, rivers, forests and more is imperative for the health and safety of our communities.
Ontario’s conservation authorities should be strengthened now more than ever given the severe storms and weather being seen everywhere. They protect us and we need that.
