We, the people of Dundas, reject the amalgamation of our conservation land. "Freeing up resources" means fewer hands and materials taking care of the land. With the climate already unstable due directly to human action, we need to be taking care of our land, not neglecting it. The lack of protection and care of the land will directly affect our lives as the climate continues to change, causing drastic weather patterns that threaten our safety. All decisions that affect the land affect our health: the air we breathe, the food we eat, the water we drink. Further, the indigenous people who steward the land must be consulted when changes are made to their land.
I ultimately ask the Premier and his Conservative party why they are proposing this change. If the bottom line is money saved, you are making the most dangerous choice for animals, plans, and humans.
