On behalf of the Municipality of Lakeshore, I am submitting a letter by Mayor Tracey Bailey expressing concern and opposition to the proposed regional consolidation of Ontario's conservation authorities. The proposed consolidation would diminish local accountability, responsiveness and service quality, and would likely challenge the ability to meet provincially-mandated timelines for Planning Act matters and housing objectives.

We would welcome the opportunity to work with the Province toward solutions that support both environmental protection and responsible growth, while preserving effective local governance and watershed-based management.
