I'm all for government efficiencies, but strongly believe amalgamating local conservation authorities is the wrong route. Local authorities are well-versed in the operation and effective control of the local watersheds and making these conservation authorities larger takes the power away from the local people and creates a disconnect from the local operation. If any changes need to be made it should again be at the managerial level where there aren't enough boots on the ground while we have too many cooks in the kitchen. The way we are laying waste to our amazing province by ripping apart these authorities and creating larger likely do-nothing entities is a waste of tax payer money.
