As a concerned resident of Oakville, I view the proposed density that would be allowed by the Province in absolute disbelief that the Province would carte blanche allow totally inappropriate high-density development upon a town that does not want it.
The Town of Oakville has developed their own recommended development plans that include reasonable density, public amenities such as parks and playgrounds.
While I appreciate that development close to the Go station would be an advantage, must it be with such high density. The impact on traffic in the area would be disastrous. Trafalgar Road is already extremely busy around the QEW area. Not everyone is going to travel on Go Transit.
There is a housing crisis. It won't being resolved by condos that are like shoe boxes - no one wants to live like that and certainly not a family. At the current time, the condo market has stagnated.
Please, please - reconsider. Let Oakville develop the way the residents want.
