Dear Sir/Madam,
As a long time Oakville resident, and Conservative Party Supporter and voter, I would ask you to reconsider. If you wish to continue to have funds and voters sufficiently to support the party, then please reconsider your decision.
How can I support $200,000 plus in the price of my house going down because you okayed a ghetto that will literally make up my sky line. Who is going to make up for my property value and how do you think this will affect all the conservative neighbours I have? If you wish to loose your seat then go ahead. Go ahead and destroy all my hard earned money I had to wok for to buy my house. The increase in traffic, the huge rise in taxes to pay to complete upgrade all the sewage and roads, the increase in crime will all only decrease my property value.
I have worked for 31 years as a paramedic and 28 of those years in Toronto. I have seen hyper-density in action sir. Working in Peel I see the disaster of the tall towers in Mississauga. The small little apartments are almost all sublet to one person but in fact there ends up being three or four in there to afford the rent. These are not single generational families sir. What do you think happens in these Toronto and Mississauga apartment buildings? Come and ride out with me, see the large groups that sit around outside or stay in the lobby at 02:00. The drugs and overdoses that occur in these building! The police know all these towers as do we.
Having family sized apartments: 2-3 bed room with a den, no subletting and no renting out for less than 6 months ( to prevent the disaster of short term and daily type rentals) will dramatically change the populous of these towers! If these things aren't enforced you will get huge number of international student with multi mattresses on the floor and the "landlord" making a profit off of these folks.
In addition to above, the towers are too tall for this area. We don't need a down town Toronto sky line dropping our property value. This is needless to say that going up the local roads will become impassable with the proposed density! We will have to drive down to lakeshore and then across as Cornwall and Trafalgar are only two lanes each way.
Please feel free to come and discuss these concerns directly if you can afford the time. Meet with me, over a cup of coffee, to let me share my experiences with hyper-density.
Respectfully,
