I don't know why such a mega density project is being considered for a pretty small parcel of land. As i will probably be considering downsizing in the next 10 years the project as proposed would have zero interest as a possible new home. Bordered by the QEW, the railway tacks and 2 busy arteries the density will make it impossible to enjoy what Oakville has to offer unless i use a car. The location close to the Go train while attractive to those who work in Toronto's downtown core does not help those who work in other locales. It still takes 40 minutes on the train, add getting to and from the station and it is an hour trip. Cars will still be vital and will continue to clog the main arteries.
The size of the condos being proposed will do little to accomodate families i don't want to live in a condo a bit bigger than the holiday Inn room down the street.
I don't expect that the government should bail out developers who made a bet before the condo market took a nose dive. Be considerate, approve plans where people can be proud to live and have the space to have a nice condo, walk after dinner through the neighbourhood with work, shopping and recreational services included in the plan. I am not opposed to density just Mega density.
Home Depot and Value Village don't count.
