I oppose the MZOs for the ongoing and irreversible damage they will bring to the environment and ambiance of Oakville. The ongoing construction will further exacerbate traffic and safety concerns at major intersections and disrupt business in the downtown core, a significant cultural and economic draw for the town. Despite living in the north part of Oakville, my family has doctors, a chiropractor and routine leisure activities scheduled in the older part of Oakville which we would be forced to abandon as challenges to their access increase. Rather than addressing the need for communities with green space, amenities and mixed housing, these MZOs override the established values of solid urban planning and threaten the health of both established and future neighbourhoods.
