I am requesting that the Ministry extend the comment period for this proposal.

The proponent’s materials indicate that additional environmental studies are in progress (including environment assessment and species-at-risk study) and that these studies will inform how impacts are eliminated and mitigated during construction and operation. As of this submission, those studies do not appear to be publicly available for review alongside the proposal materials, yet the consultation is set to close on January 12, 2026.

Meaningful public participation requires access to the studies the proponent is relying on to characterize and mitigate environmental impacts. Without these documents, the public cannot fully assess potential effects on the Goulais River and related ecological values.

Requested actions:

1) Extend the comment period until the missing environmental/species-at-risk studies are publicly posted (or otherwise made accessible), and allow a reasonable review window after posting.

2) Confirm where and how the public can review all supporting studies referenced by the proponent (online and/or in person).

3) Ensure the ministry’s decision considers that these materials were not available during the current consultation window.
