By all appearances, the use of Ministry Zoning Orders as a juggernaut to force top-down changes on the town of Oakville is abuse of process. It is short-sighted thinking which ignores the real impact the sudden density imposed on midtown Oakville will impose on the citizens of the town. I have been a resident for over thirty years and the nature and character which made Oakville such an attractive place to live and raise kids is in jeopardy. Already the untrammelled expansion of towers north and south has already created a lot of street noise, traffic congestion, and worse. The regular municipal zoning has always been a careful process to think forward and respect those who already call Oakville their home.
Provincial government, you are offside on this one.
