My comments are regarding the MZO's for the Transit-Oriented Community in the Town of Oakville:
I would ask that close attention be paid to the density proposed and the effects that it will have on an already congested area.
I would ask that the Premier (or someone as at this time no one has been able answer the question) explain such an out-of-proportion density level that is being pushed forward by the Province. Density of these levels are unprecedented in worldwide urban situations. Why in Oakville?
I would ask that the proposal put forth by the Town and by local community groups be considered as an alternative or at least as a starting point for discussion.
In theory, I am in favour of transit-oriented communities however the one being proposed in Oakville is unfortunately more of a population inundation. Has anyone even checked to see if the proposed transit (GO transit and Oakville transit) can support such an influx of people?
I would ask that you don't proceed by ramming this project through. Clearly a thorough analysis of the success of the project has not been done.
Thank you.
