I am a long time resident of Oakville (60 years). It is one thing to have an orderly increase in population and density, but in recent years the quality of life and character of what perhaps laughably is still the "Town of Oakville" has changed considerably for the worse. The proposed vastly increased density will continue the trend of increasing traffic and congestion, as well as installing high rise buildings that look like they were designed in the 1950's in the USSR and will start falling apart in 20 years. When you look at real estate listings for the residences in the north part of town, the first few photos are of the lakefront and downtown. Adding such increased density will only make for increased congestion and further the deterioration in the overall quality of life and character of Oakville. This is a money grab plain and simple with Friends of Ford and Company cashing in with no regard for the effect on the citizens of this town. This stinks of the Greenbelt scandal all over again.
