On behalf of the Town of Newmarket, we are pleased to submit the attached staff report containing the Town’s comments in response to Environmental Registry of Ontario Notice 026‑0312, which proposes a new regulation under the Planning Act to support the standardization of parkland dedication requirements, including the conveyance of developer‑identified parkland, encumbered lands, and privately owned public spaces.

The Town appreciates the opportunity to provide input on the proposed regulatory changes and to contribute to the Province’s ongoing efforts to streamline development approvals while considering implications for municipal park planning, long‑term public access, and the delivery of high‑quality parkland.
