The provision “ Removing redundant requirement for municipalities to include climate change policies in their official plans,” is a race to the bottom, i.e. just at the time when a big push for environmental regulations is required you are limiting municipalities from going beyond the minimum. WE ARE IN A CLIMATE CRISIS!
Similarly, the provision that green building codes beyond provincial minimums cannot be imposed is again limiting the ability of cities to address climate issues. Cities should be able to impose by-laws like no new natural gas hookups for heating or cooking purposes.
