Our water is not to be used for profit. Clean drinking water is a right of every Ontarians; there is no place for profit is the provision and security of our drinking water.
The last time a government tried to reduce the public burden on this matter, people died in Walkerton. Do not make the same error. When you reduce a municipality's ability to govern it water, you endanger Ontarians, and rob our children of the legacy of public water.
The government should absolutely not be forcing municipalities to deliver water through a private organization. This level of egregious theft from the commons will not be tolerated by the people and if forced through will have staggeringly and profound negative effect on that area moving forward. To the extent that you disregard this, expect surprisingly fervent opposition.
