Our municipal government needs to have it's authority restored. We have experienced a loss of democratic rights during the reign of the Green Energy Act. The transitions you refer to need to be done with caution. In other words, prevent likelihood of further harm befalling the rural citizens of Ontario.
Please ensure that our municipal council can once again do it's community planning and be able to uphold it's mandated plans, without interference of a "blocking Citizens rights while favouring big business" act, like the Green Energy Act.
In conjunction with the province, the municipality should be able to control what happens in their municipality and reflect the wishes of the majority of it's citizens.
Introducing "grandfathering" and "projects in process" to the wording, negates the promise that Doug Ford made to us (the citizens of North Stormont, regarding Nation Rise Wind Turbine Farm) to CANCEL ALL WIND TURBINE PROJECTS THAT WERE NOT YET BUILT, INCLUDING NATION RISE. We voted for change and Doug Ford was our man to do it. Please ensure that our promise is not negated by wording changes.
At a MINIMUM a stop order/moratorium should be placed on Nation Rise Wind Turbine Farm, until up to date studies can be done on noise modelling, setbacks, infrasound vibration, as pertains to harm to human health and animals. Plus a re-vamping of the entire system that handles citizen complaints on wind turbines. History has already shown that this system is broken/ineffectual and needs to be working before any more Ontario citizens are put in possible harms way.
Background (referring to Nation Rise Wind Turbine farm): The turbines being considered are bigger than anything we have seen to date. I am told they are approx. twice the height of the Peace Tower on Parliament hill. The noise modelling used was not up to date (over 20 years old is what I can determine) and though new guidelines came into existence Nation Rise was allowed to use the old/outdated noise modelling numbers for this project. Infrasound vibration appears to be biggest culprit when it come to human health, however studies are not up to date. I am told that these larger turbines will have less noise, but more infrasound, which is not reflected in the noise modelling they are using.
The studies being referred to on human health & wind turbines, are out of date. I did find one study...PLEASE READ "Wind Turbine Syndrome" a study by Dr. Nina Perpont, MD, PhD...I found her findings on the effect on human health shocking! She also has a section where she repeats the study all over again, in plain English, for non-clinicians, making it an easier read. We hear story after story of Ontario citizens being affected by wind turbines, having to walk away from homes that are no longer live-able, repeatedly reporting to the 'spills line' with complaints, with no responses. Or, when a testing crew did finally arrive their equipment was outdated and they only arrived on a perfect day, when the effects complained about, were minimal. We the citizens deserve better.
We, the rural citizens of Ontario need to be heard, once again. WE NEED PROTECTION - NOW!
Please ensure that any citizen complaints about wind turbines have a truly effective AND TIMELY means of resolution/reporting and study of the problems in place before proceeding in any manner with any more turbine construction.
Setbacks of turbines, from other citizens homes and property, is not consistent with global minimums. Our municipal government needs to protect us, the citizens, from harm and they need to have their authority returned in order to do this.
