I strongly oppose the proposed Open for business planning tool because of the negative impacts that it will have on my community and on our environment, our water, our air and our health. The tool represents an irresponsible approach to sustainable economic development and is unlikely to be effective in its goals.
The tool will undermine the provisions which currently safeguard environmental quality and public health and safety throughout Ontario. Those safeguards should not be bypassed in the interest of private businesses.
We need planning policies that support prosperity for all Ontarian people, in harmony with the environment and natural systems that support our existence.
