This proposed legislation will lead to the destruction of prime farm land, sensitive environmentally protected lands, and undermine the Oak Ridges Conservation Act and green belt protection legislation. Official plans and zoning by -laws which are developed with extensive public consultaion will be similarly undermined. One may reasonably question the validity of the entire Planning Act and processes defined under its jurisdiction if this legislation is passed.
