I am very concerned that this open-for-business planning by-law tool will take away local residents' and businesses' voice to be heard.
Imposing "limited" planning-related conditions regarding site plan matters is intolerable. A business should not have the right to be "secure" in their plans with the municipality without disclosing every single detail of their conditions to the planning board and public.
The public has every right to be notified regarding by-laws passed before they are, not after. I'm concerned that the government's demand for a quick response to attract business opportunities will put municipalities in jeopardy of losing their uniqueness and heritage.
I am asking that this bill not be passed as it stands.
