Good morning,
An issue that I have with the amendment to the Growth Plan is in regards to its implications of development on vital natural areas (the Greenbelt, Oak Ridges Moraine, etc.) Under no circumstances should these areas be opened up for development. What should be prioritized is the development that promotes more medium and higher density residential as well employment lands in our established urban boundaries. I worry that our Premier is making rash decisions for the sake of his developer friends. Furthermore, even if these areas are opened up to development, there should be absolutely no more urban sprawl, as it continues to make the GTA unaffordable and continues to distance itself from vital public transportation corridors. Ultimately, I don't want to see the Province dismantle vital environmental protection policy for the sake of urban development.
