I am writing this regarding the Political Engagement Amendment. There are many things in the plan that I find to be very useful and important. The plan should be put into effect as soon as possible. Before this occurs, I do have a few concerns about one of the amendments. I’d like to bring your attention to amendment 1.2. I do agree with many parts of this amendment but there are some parts that we could change for the better.

This amendment talks about how we are “deleting” some previous approaches and altering/implementing new ones in its place. I do agree that we need to become less focused on what the public thinks about these issues and start implementing some of the things that we promise to put into effect but, we also need to keep in mind that The public's opinion is important. Right now, the government is split between either focusing too much on the public’s opinion or only focused on the environmental aspects. We can see this because in amendment 1.2, they “delete” the “clean and healthy environment” and replace it with “an approach that puts people first”, evidence of completely picking one side over the other. I feel as if they should change it to be something along the lines of “Environmental effects that helps the people” to be split in the middle and get both benefits.

As we can see, the population density is increasing and without the access to restricted green space, we should get many of the public’s views on this issue to see what we can do about this. Within the community we can work together and come to conclusions on this issue. Some I agree with the plan but, I do feel like we could improve amendment 1.2.
