As a resident for the past 10 years in the Yonge and Eglinton community I would like to highlight some issues : Building heights in the area shadows access to sunlight yet condo construction continues at a rapid pace, there is a lack of green space in the community, extensive traffic and safety issues in the vicinity of schools and the major intersections. There is an unsafe amount of dust from construction and noise pollution that jeopardizes the health of people in the area with asthma and other lung conditions. Limited Infrastructure Capacity for: Transit Schools Utility Services Community Amenities The Yonge-Eglinton Urban Growth Centre (UCG) has already significantly exceeded Provincial growth targets. I am in support of the Yonge-Eglinton Official Plan Amendment No. 405 (OPA 405) as adopted by the City of Toronto. The amendment is consistent with the Growth Plan (2017) and the Provincial Policy Statement (2014).This plan will not only support a liveable community but also ease the stress on our infrastructure and reduce requirements for additional childcare and pupil spaces in the area. The sun and shadow impacts would be significantly reduced on important public open spaces.
