I welcome the continual development of high density housing in the Yonge and Eglinton area, especially near the Yonge subway and the Eglinton LRT. In my opinion, Toronto is developing into a world class city. The demand by young and old residents alike for affordable housing still exceeds supply, so continued development is still required in order to close the gap between supply and demand. Developing along the subway routes helps reduce the demand for cars, which avoids increasing congestion, downtown parking places and carbon emissions. It makes sense that infrastructure should grow in step to meet the growing population, including hard infrastructure, public squares, social services, etc. Similarly, suggest that the existing green space, community centres, etc. should be preserved and enhanced to support the additional population.
