Following the Town meeting held last evening Mar 20/19 in St.George it is crystal clear that the frustration of the general public surrounding this facility is growing and many are tired of continued delays in resolving this issue. For it to take 8+ years to get to this point of the MOE having the concrete data to support that this applicant is in non-compliance is very disturbing. Many issues where addressed however the brass tax is that Timco continues to disrupt the daily lives of many businesses, employees and local residents with predominately foul odours and noise. It seemed that there was some real distrust between the administration of Timco and those that have been battling this since the beginning. In my opinion the MOE should immediately issue appropriate orders backed by actual enforcement to increase the bio filtration with installation of standby units for times of maintenance, replacement and or repair. I would support the decision to grant no further concessions, changes or applications until they demonstrate that they can prevent adverse effect to others in practical operation and not just theory. Obviously original design errors are inherent with the equipment in the facility and should never had been previously accepted and even with modifications continue to date. Production rates should be curbed to determine if there is a correlation between the volume and odour resulting from the same.

In conclusion, now is the time to deal with this once and for all. I am confident that the MOE is aware of the other successful similar operations around the province and would have a real solution for the applicant so the rights of the many do not need to be sacrificed fro the few.

Steve
